Silk Flowers by Yutaan Silk Flowers by Yutaan
Just wanted to make a cut-paper thing with an interesting shadow. Played around with 3D effects, too - the green ribbon sticks out about a quarter of an inch further than the rest of the piece. :)

Excellent sense of dimension in this one, despite the general lack of contrast.

Thank you! This one is a little plain on-screen, because the whole point actually is the dimensionality of the piece - the green band of paper incomes forward by about a third of an inch, so it looks more interesting in real life. :)

Oh that would be interesting to see in real life.
So wait.  This means the internet isn't perfect.
Oh god.

Haha, it's a little difficult to figure out what to do with cut-paper pieces that haven't been specifically commissioned, because I don't really have a place to store them until/if I sell them. IRL, this one is currently sitting on my dresser atop a pile of art stuff. XD

I hear ya.  I have dozens of paintings kinda on top of and all over things at home.  At least the watercolors are easily packable - the old art school oil paintings, not so much.

Such an intriguing piece! The colour choices I adore, and I love the experimentation in this... It's wonderful how you handled the cast shadow. Astounding work, as always.
